JOSEPH LANG & SONS A 12-BORE '1878 PATENT' PUSH-FORWARD UNDERLEVER TRIGGERPLATE-ACTION LEVER-COCKING SNAP-ACTION SIDEPLATED HAMMERLESS NON-EJECTOR, serial no. 6337, 30in. nitro reproved damascus barrels, broad rib engraved 'JOSEPH LANG & SONS. 22 COCKSPUR ST, PALL MALL, LONDON.' (faint), and with acanthus scroll detailing at the breech-end, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. true cyl. choke in both, Lang patent triggerplate actions, patent no. 545 of 9th February 1878 with removable striker discs, carved serpentine fences, the top strap engraved 'LANG'S PATENT.', Lang patent automatic lever safety, patent no. 133 of 11th January 1879, with gold-inlaid 'LOCKED' detail, push-forward underlever, sideplates and furniture engraved border and partial acanthus scroll engraving, brushed bright finish, 16in. stock including 2 3/4in. wooden extension (inked in to match, cast on for the left-shoulder, triggers also swept), Hackett type snap-on fore-end with horn finial, weight 7lb. 13oz.
