25 1/2in. shortened nitro barrels, the rib engraved 'F. BEESLEY. 2 ST JAMES'S STREET. LONDON. PALL MALL CORNER.' and gold-inlaid '2' at the breech-end, the tubes engraved 'WHITWORTH'S FLUID PRESSED STEEL.' and with acanthus scroll detailing at the breech-end, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. true cyl. choke in both, right wall at 18, Beesley patent action with carved leaf fences, toplever gold-inlaid '2', automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, best border, acanthus scroll and floral bouquet engraving, the lockplates with the makers name in a scrolling banner aside a coronet, the underside engraved 'BEESLEY'S PATENT.', retaining very slight traces of colour-hardening and finish, 14in. replacement stock including buttplate, weight 6lb. 5oz.
