30in. nitro chopperlump barrels (no.1 replacements by the maker in 1993, no.2 original nitro reproved Whitworth-steel), the ribs engraved 'J. PURDEY & SONS. AUDLEY HOUSE, SOUTH AUDLEY STREET. LONDON.' (no.1), and 'J. PURDEY & SONS, AUDLEY HOUSE, SOUTH AUDLEY STREET, LONDON. MADE OF SIR JOSEPH WHITWORTH'S FLUID PRESSED STEEL' (no.2, faint), and with '1' and '2' at the breech-ends, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 1/2 choke and imp. cyl. and 1/2 choke, automatic safeties with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' details, removable striker discs, arrow cocking indicators, best fine acanthus scroll and bouquet engraving, brushed bright and re-blued finish overall, 15 1/4in. replacement stocks, weight 6lb. 14oz. (no.1) and 6lb. 11oz. (no.2), in their leather double motorcase

2nd September 1936: No. 1 restocked to central vision (1in. cast off at heel), 14 3/8in. and fitted with a Silver's recoil-pad
August 1966: 15973 - Stock shortened to 15 1/4in. on account of G. McCorquodale
October 1971: 15973 - restocked, forend restocked, and new cross pin fitted.
