for 1868, 29 3/4in. black powder only damascus barrels, rib engraved 'JOSEPH LANG & SONS. 22 COCKSPUR STREET. LONDON.', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. true cyl. in both, heavily pitted, carved percussion fences, kinked toplever, non-rebounding sidelocks with large dolphin hammers, action marked 'JP Patent 377' (likely use number for J. Purdey double bite snap patent, No. 1104 of 2nd May 1863) and also marked 475, action flats with inset strengthening plates for the bar-in-wood, fine acanthus scroll engraving, 14 5/8in. well-figured stock (cracked towards knuckle, pinned right underhorn), horn buttplate, weight 6lb. 11oz.
