A 12-BORE SINGLE-TRIGGER EASY-OPENING SIDELOCK EJECTOR, serial no. 5137,
for 1904, 28in. nitro barrels, the rib spuriously re-engraved 'BOSS & CO. 75 ST. JAMES STREET. LONDON.', (sic), 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. choke in both, wall thicknesses below recommended minimum, bore dimensions marginal, automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, gold-inlaid cocking-indicators, rolled-edge triggerguard, best fine acanthus scroll engraving with floral bouquets, retaining virtually full renewed colour-hardening and finish, 15in. boldly-figured replacement stock including 7/8in. leather covered recoil pad, weight 6lb. 10oz.
Provenance: The makers have kindly confirmed that the gun was completed on the 8th April 1904 for a Capt M.S. Williams as a single trigger hammerless ejector gun to match and make a set of three with 4941 & 2
