one of approximately 5000 manufactured in 1865, with round tapering blued 20in. barrel, dove-tailed fore-sight, folding leaf-sight with additional notch, rolling-block style action of 'Type 1' style with central slot for the hammer-nose, slab-sided receiver with saddle-ring and bar mounted to left hand side, top-tang with patents to 1864, walnut butt-stock, iron furniture, letter 'B' inspector's stamps, walnut splinter fore-end with single iron barrel-band, the whole retaining a strong amount of colour and finish
