A CASED 54-BORE PERCUSSION TRIGGER-COCKING REVOLVER, MODEL 'PATENT DOUBLE-TRIGGER', serial no. 8608T,
circa 1854, with octagonal 6in. barrel, dove-tailed bead fore-sight and engraved at muzzle and breech, standing notch rear-sight, the top-strap engraved with borders and scrolls, plain borderline engraved five-shot cylinder with carved rope-twist band to the leading edge, borderline and scroll engraved frame with inverted 'Y' shaped safe spring and 'J' shaped spring for cylinder arbor release, special twin trigger mechanism with spurless hammer, chequered walnut semi sawhandled grip with moulded and engraved iron butt-cap, detachable replacement rammer mounted to the left front of frame, traces of finish remaining but detail rubbed and some mild pitting present, complete with a later leather travel case adapted for this revolver (distressed)
