A RARE 250-BORE FLINTLOCK RIFLED POCKET-PISTOL, MODEL 'BABY QUEEN ANNE', no visible serial number,
first quarter of the 18th century, with 2in. turn-off banded rifled cannon barrel, tapering octagonal breech section engraved with scrolls and tulips to the top-flat, the right underside flat signed 'CLAUDE NIQUET', the bottom flat 'A LIEGE', applied top-tang, border engraved side-hammer boxlock action of 'Queen Anne' style, enclosed frizzen spring below the pan, swan-necked cock with sliding button safe behind, borderline and scroll engraved bulbous all-brass butt numbered '3' at the toe and unguarded trigger with ring tip

Provenance: Claude Niquet was born 1692 and died in February 1764 and was a gun trader on the Pont d'Ile (Island Bridge), Liege. His name is found on many high class weapons of the period.
