almost certainly a smith-made arsenal example, with visible 'hamon' to the 26 3/4in. blade (some light staining and mild edge damage), cast and carved brass 'tsuba' with separate copper 'seppa', cotton bound rayskin covered hilt, complete with its tan-brown painted metal 'saya' (small dents and paint loss)
