CHATELLERAULT ARSENAL, FRANCE
A 19TH CENTURY 1833 PATTERN FRENCH NAVAL CUTLASS,
in the style of Napoleonic examples but dated 1842, with broad fullered slightly curving 26 1/2in. blade signed on the back edge and with the date in script, both sides of the blade engraved with an anchor near the hilt, solid iron half-bowl with faceted iron grip, complete with its original brass-mounted leather scabbard.
