30in. sleeved nitro barrels, the rib re-engraved 'JOHN DICKSON & SON. 63. PRINCES STREET. EDINBURGH.', 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 1/2 choke, T. Southgate & J. Woodward patent 'Automatic' action, patent no. 600 of 14th February 1876, use number 25, (self-cocking feature not operating), carved percussion fences, rebounding sidelocks, one hammer a replacement, best fine acanthus scroll engraving, brushed bright finish overall, 14 1/8in. figured stock with steel heel and toe plates, fore-end with recessed Anson push rod release, weight 6lb. 13oz.
Provenance: This gun was completed on 12th January 1897
