circa 1858, with fine damascus 29 3/4in. barrels signed in gilt on the top-rib 'PRELAT A PARIS', bead fore-sight, moulded pin platforms, rope-twist engraved table and shallow fences, border and acanthus leaf engraved top-tang extending to the comb, scroll engraved rounded action-body, isolated border and acanthus scroll engraved back-action locks signed in gilt 'PRELAT A PARIS' within oval panels, moulded hammers with scroll engraved necks and cloud and lightning bolt engraved heads, chequered birdseye maple butt-stock with iron heel-plate, long engraved top-spur, guarded triggers with complex bow (front trigger lacking blade), early style forward facing Lefaucheux swing-lever and fully chequered splinter fore-end fixed via a wedge
