A FINE 12-BORE 'TWELVE-TWENTY' W. BAKER 1913 PATENT ASSISTED-OPENING SIDELOCK EJECTOR, serial no. 15155,
27in. nitro chopperlump barrels, the rib engraved 'WILLIAM POWELL & SON. 35. CARR'S LANE. BIRMINGHAM.', and gold-inlaid '1' at the breech end, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 1/2 choke, slender W. Baker patent assisted-opening action, patent no. 16778 of 22nd March 1913, with Baker patent ejectors, carved foliate fences, toplever gold-inlaid '1', automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, fine acanthus scroll engraving with central floral bouquets, retaining much original colour-hardening and finish, 15 1/4in. figured stock, slightly cast on for the left shoulder, including 5/8in. ebonite extension, weight 6lb. 12oz., in a Brady canvas and leather case

Provenance: The vendor has kindly supplied us with a photocopy from the makers daybook for the gun. It is listed as being a 'Best quality h'less ejector gun, 27x12, D.B. Sidelocks self-opening, engraved'. The gun was fitted and tested by the client, C.F. Jurvey of Sweyney Cliff, Coalport, Shropshire on the 9th June 1959, with a further practice listed on the 27th August 1959 before its final collection on the 1st September of the same year.

The makers have kindly confirmed that the next page in the book for serial no. 15156 remains blank, suggesting that it may have been reserved for a second gun to be made as a No.2 at a later date, but that this never came to pass, leaving No. 15156 still available
