A SCARCE .44 (COLT) SINGLE-ACTION REVOLVER, MODEL 'RICHARDS 1860 ARMY CONVERSION', serial no. 199963,
for 1873, with conversion circa 1873, 8in. barrel signed 'ADDRESS COL SAML COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA' with blanked off loading lever aperture and applied ejector-rod mounted to right hand side, stepped roll engraved cylinder, applied standing breech with hinged loading gate, open iron frame marked 'COLTS PATENT', smooth walnut grip and brass trigger-guard (traces of silver plating), the whole retaining much of its factory conversion refinish and all matching numbers except un-numbered wedge
