A RARE .297-230 (MORRIS) SINGLE-SHOT PISTOL, MODEL 'TRANTER'S PATENT', serial no. 2128, COMPLETE WITH PERIOD MAXIM SOUND MODERATOR,
circa 1900, with blued 8 1/2in. octagonal to round barrel signed on the top 'ARMY & NAVY C.S.L. LONDON', dove-tailed blade fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight, the muzzle threaded at the end for a period Maxim type sound moderator (included), open iron frame marked 'TRANTER'S PATENT', push button opening, exposed hammer, chequered walnut birdshead grip with no provision for shoulder stock and spur trigger, much finish remaining
