A 12-BORE NEEDLEFIRE DOUBLE-BARRELLED BOLT-ACTION SPORTING-GUN, MODEL 'NEEDHAM'S PATENT', serial no. 12049,
circa 1870, with 27 1/2in. damascus barrels, the top-rib signed 'W. & J. RIGBY DUBLIN', the individual breeches with borderline engraved apertures, scroll engraved swing out turn-bolt breech-blocks, each with individual safety catches, the body of the right bolt marked 'RIGBY' and the left 'DUBLIN', fully engraved 'butter-knife' bolt-handles with bulbous tips, fully scroll-engraved top-tang and small dummy sideplates, chequered walnut half-stock (cracked and repaired at wrist), iron heel-plate, border and scroll engraved trigger-guard tang and bow, escutcheoned take-down key and horn tip to fore-end, traces of finish
