circa 1845, with blued octagonal to round 3 3/4in. two stage barrel, the top-flat at breech signed 'VEISEY & SON', blued plain six-shot cylinder with numbered chambers and engraved band to leading edge, border and scroll engraved silver plated rounded frame (losses to plating), scroll engraved bar-hammer, finely chequered walnut grips with silver plated grip-straps, the back-strap with scroll engraving, domed iron butt-cap with central trapdoor and guarded trigger (return spring weak), strong amount of probable original finish
