circa 1840, with octagonal 8 1/2in. barrel, small white-metal fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight, engraved band at breech, moulded snail, scroll engraved top-tang, borderline and scroll engraved bar-action lock, dolphin hammer, walnut half-stock with chequered bag-shaped butt, spurred trigger guard bow, plain trigger, white metal barrel key escutcheons and horn nose-cap, wood under-barrel ramrod
