A GOOD CASED 14-BORE PERCUSSION DOUBLE-BARRELLED SPORTING-GUN, no visible serial number,
circa 1850, with London proved browned damascus 30in. barrels, slightly raised concave top-rib signed 'HOLLIS BROS & CO, MAKERS TO HER MAJESTY'S HONOURABLE BOARD OF ORDNANCE', bead fore-sight, engraved band and platinum vented plugs at breech, scroll engraved rib-end and top-tang, border and scroll engraved colour-hardened locks signed on the bar 'HOLLIS BROS & CO.' and also featuring vignettes of hunting dogs and game, figured walnut half-stock chequered at the wrist, iron heel-plate and trigger-guard bow both featuring scroll engraved, hunting dogs and game, complete with its original ebony brass tipped ramrod and together with a period walnut storage case probably original to the piece, compartmented and lined in green baize with some lidded compartments and containing a period powder and shot flask (wood wad-box missing from case)
