AN UNUSUAL .750 PERCUSSION REWORKING OF A PATTERN '39/42 MUSKET' FOR THE COLONIAL MARKET,
circa 1855, with round iron 39in. barrel with Tower proofs and maker's mark 'J.R.C.' at breech, boat-shaped fore-sight, solid rounded top-tang, borderline engraved lock of flint form and signed 'TOWER', Queen's crown at tail, walnut full-stock of semi bobbejaanboud style with swan neck wrist and shallow raised cheek-piece, the right hand side of butt with oval stamp 'COOPER & GOODMAN MAKER'S BIRM.M', the underside of butt stamped twice with 'J.R.C.' behind the lower tang, brass furniture and replacement iron ramrod
