A GOOD PAIR OF 18-BORE FLINTLOCK HOLSTER-PISTOLS FOR THE OTTOMAN MARKET, no visible serial numbers,
circa 1760, with silver-plated triple-staged 10 1/2in. barrels, the top-flats at breech signed within engraved banners 'LONDON', the side flats with foliate engraving, the central barrel sections engraved with martial trophies surmounted by recumbent crescents and further foliate engraving at the muzzle section with a single engraved arrow facing the fore-sight bead, engraved iron top-tangs, flat, slightly curved bevel-edged locks signed 'SMITH' below the pans, sliding safes to the stepped pointed tails, rollers to the frizzen springs and swan-necked cocks, dark walnut full-stocks inlaid with silver wire scrolls, silver-plated iron furniture including bulbous butt-caps with long side-spurs and trophy embossed pommels, trophy embossed shield-shaped escutcheons to the wrists, engraved guards and turned thimbles and complete with their horn-faced wood ramrods (one a working replacement)
