A 12-BORE FLINTLOCK SINGLE-BARREL BIRDING-GUN, no visible serial number,
circa 1765, with round iron slightly swamped 40in. barrel, the top near breech signed 'T. HADLEY LONDON' within a steeple border with teardrop terminal, bead shaped fore-sight mounted on a teardrop shaped brass mount, moulded bands at the hooked breech and sighting groove to top-tang, borderline engraved radiused lock signed 'T. HADLEY', cock with borderline engraved circular top-jaw, teak half-stock (possibly reduced from full) with handrail banana butt, carved floral apron around the top-tang, engraved brass furniture including carved and engraved top-spur, complex moulded rococo escutcheon to wrist, twin barrel keys, moulded nose-cap and two applied turned ramrod thimbles and possible period brass tipped ramrod
