A 12-BORE FLINTLOCK SINGLE-BARRELLED SPORTING-GUN, no visible serial number,
circa 1790, with triple staged 37 3/4in. twist iron barrel, the top-flat at breech signed 'DEVONPORT' (rubbed), engraved breech-block with platinum vent, engraved top-tang with shallow sighting groove, flat, slightly curved bevel edged lock with stepped and rounded tail and border and foliate engraving, signed 'W. EDWARDS' below the semi rainproof pan, walnut half-stock (probably cut back from full) with chequered wrist, iron furniture and twin barrel keys (repairs to fore-end), ribless under-barrel with single applied turned pipe and replacement ramrod
