A JAPANESE KATANA WITH UNUSUAL MOUNTS,
believed early to mid 19th century with an earlier (possibly 17th century) 29in. unsigned blade (some slight edge damage and corrosion veining), single blind 'hi' to left hand side of blade at hilt, three 'mekugi ana', unusual cast solid 'tsuba' pierced with two holes for a knot and with squared rolled forward top-edge and with a gilt laquer, gilt laquered 'fuchi' and 'kashira' with carved and moulded decoration, green cotton bound rayskin grip and black laquered 'saya'
