A 12-BORE SELF-OPENING SIDELOCK EJECTOR, serial no. 17054,
28in. replacement nitro reproved chopperlump barrels (in 1955 by the makers), the rib engraved 'J. PURDEY & SONS. AUDLEY HOUSE. SOUTH AUDLEY STREET. LONDON. ENGLAND.', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. and 3/4 choke, Purdey self-opening action, removable striker discs, automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, 'arrow' cocking indicators, fine bouquet and scroll engraving, brushed finish, 14 1/2in. stock (slight cracks to rear of both lockplates) including 5/8in. wooden extension, weight 6lb. 7oz., in its makers brass-cornered oak and leather case

Description: No. 2 of a pair of hammerless ejector game guns

Barrels: 29 1/2in.
Choke: Plain & Mod
Stock: 14 1/8in.
Notes:
15th February 1911: Now property of A.C. Simpson
5th February 1931: Now property of C.H. Fergusson (Kenya)
July 1954: Purchased from the estate of C. Hamilton Fergusson through Dr. A.R. Finn
March 1955: 17054 had new 28in. barrels fitted, choked Imp. Cyl & Mod, stock adjusted to 14 5/8in., weight remained 6lb. 6oz. Sold to E.M. Thomas
The No. 1 gun was later renumbered to make up a pair elsewhere.
