28in. nitro reproved barrels, ribs with border engraved detailing at the breech ends and gold-inlaid '1' and '2', tubes engraved 'HOLLAND & HOLLAND. 98. NEW BOND STREET. LONDON.', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. and 1/4 choke, wall thicknesses below recommended minimum, toplevers gold-inlaid '1' and '2', automatic safeties with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' details, gold-inlaid cocking-indicators, action and lockplates with border engraving, the undersides with 'ROYAL HAMMERLESS EJECTOR', blued lockplates and renewed finish to furniture, 14 1/8in. shortened figured stocks including 1/4in. horn buttplates, weight 5lb. 15oz., in their brass-cornered leather case

Provenance: The makers have kindly confirmed that the guns were completed on the 24th April 1920 for a 'Townshend' as a pair of 16-bore 'Royal Hammerless Ejector Guns. The records show they were built with 28in. steel barrels, right imp. choke, left slight choke, non-detachable locks, top lever, top auto safety, straight hand stock, chequered butt, black finish
