dated for 1869, with 25in. barrel marked 'WHITWORTH PATENT', block and blade fore-sight, ladder rear-sight, long lift-up lever at breech marked 'WESTLEY RICHARDS' over 'PATENT', shallow loading tray, built in ejector, plain bar-action lock dated and signed 'WESTLEY RICHARDS & CO', walnut full-stock with iron furniture (fore-end spliced and joined), iron underbarrel clearing rod and traces of finish only
Other Notes: According to collectors, it is believed only 24 centrefire rifles that were produced with the dates 1867, 68 & 69 and in barrel lengths 25, 34 & 39in. have survived from the original 500 manufactured
