AN 80-BORE PERCUSSION PRIZE REVOLVER, UNSIGNED, MODEL 'WEBLEY-BENTLEY TYPE', no visible serial number,
dated for 1860, with blued octagonal 4 3/4in. barrel, small blade fore-sight, plain cylinder, each chamber sequentially numbered, borderline and scroll engraved open frame with later nickel plating, half-strap with rear-sight, self cocking action with hammer-nose safe, smooth walnut grips, the right with large applied nickel plaque reading 'CAPTN. STEEL, 5TH MONMOUTHSHIRE R.V., 2ND PRIZE - ALL COMERS 400 YARDS, GIVEN BY 3RD MONMOUTHSHIRE R.V. NEWPORT, OCT 1ST 1860', moulded butt-cap and hinged ramrod mounted to left of barrel
