Daw patent action, patent no. 1594 of 1862, use no. 544, carved percussion fences, elongated topstrap, rebounding back-action locks, permanently attached fore-end, best bold acanthus scroll engraving, 14 5/8in. figured stock with reblued steel heel and toe-plates, weight 7lb. 6oz., in its two-tiered brass-cornered oak and leather case with original Daw trade label, lift out tray with the lower section blocked out with provision for shot cartridges
