30in. nitro barrels (some dents, loose on actions), ribs engraved 'WILLIAM EVANS, 63, PALL MALL, ST. JAMES'S, LONDON.', and gold-inlaid '1' and '2', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 1/2 choke, treble-grip actions, toplevers gold-inlaid '1' and '2', automatic safeties with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' details, removable striker discs, best bold acanthus scroll engraving with beaded borders, retaining traces of original colour-hardening, 15 1/4in. figured crossover stocks, woodwork bruised, No.1 with chip to left overhorn, weight 6lb. 13oz.
Provenance: The makers have kindly informed us that this pair of shotguns were completed with 30in. barrels in September 1938 for W.V. Bonsor.
