hold-open toplever, serial number inscribed in gold, manual safety with integral barrel selector switch, carved fence, the action and lockplates deeply carved in relief with bold scrolling acanthus with floral borders, with vignettes of a brace of English partridge in flight, two cock pheasants and the underside with an alighting mallard, the triggerplate signed 'S. PURGALL', triggerguard gold inlaid with monogram 'O.F', bright finish overall, 15in. highly-figured pistolgrip stock, weight 6lb. 10oz., in a canvas and leather case with provision for both sets of barrels
