30in. nitro Arcus-steel barrels (No.1 loose on action), ribs (No.1 loose) engraved 'COGSWELL & HARRISON LTD. "EXTRA QUALITY VICTOR EJECTOR" 141. NEW BOND ST. LONDON.', bore measurements marginal and some dents, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 1/2 choke, toplevers gold-inlaid '1' and '2', automatic safeties with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' details, cocking-indicators (missing gold inlay), fine bouquet and scroll engraving, brushed bright finish overall, 14 1/2in. well-figured stocks (worn, No.1 with setting cracks to rear of lockplates) including approx. 5/8in. wooden extensions, No.1 fore-end with repairs, weight 6lb. 7oz., in their brass-cornered oak and leather case

Provenance: We are kindly informed by the vendor that this pair of shotguns were completed for his Great Grandfather, W.H. Cox, Esq. on 28th July 1910. Their completion was designed so as to coincide with the beginning of the grouse season. The image that accompanies the description shows the original owner, together with his brother, on the family's moor at Glenquaich, Perthshire.
