A SCARCE .577 PERCUSSION MILITARY DOUBLE-BARRELLED RIFLE, MODEL 'JACOB'S', COMPLETE WITH ORIGINAL PATTERN BAYONET,
dated for 1860, with re-blued 24in. barrels, blade and dove-tail fore-sight, ladder rear-sight graduated to 2000yds. and three folding leaves, plain back-action locks signed 'SWINBURN & SON' together with the date '1860', plain walnut half-stock, iron patch-box to right hand side of butt, the lid engraved 'JACOB'S RIFLES', iron heel-plate and trigger guard with pistol grip chequered tang, iron barrel-band and ramrod (re-finished with some mild external pitting) TOGETHER WITH an original 'Jacob's Rifle' bayonet serial no. 780, of usual form with 30 1/4in. double edged twin-fullered blade, pierced iron half-basket with figure '8' muzzle ring, pommel with serial no. and signed 'S & S', chequered hard rubber grips (some shrinkage), the whole cleaned with light staining
