A GERMAN LUFTWAFFE AIR GUNNERS AND FLIGHT ENGINEERS BADGE,
circa 1943, consisting of an oval wreath, the left hand side comprised of laurel leaves, the right hand side of oak leaves, with a swastika in the bottom center, the whole with an applied eagle in flight with talons extended, brooch back fastener and makers name to reverse (plating worn, some rubbing to high spots)
Provenance: This award was instituted on th 22nd June 1942 and replaced an earlier version. To qualify for this award the recipient must have completed two months training or to have participated in five operational flights in the relevant position. The award could be brought forward if the recipient was wounded on an operational flight.
