World War II, with 27in. blade slightly widening at the 'kissaki', tang signed on both sides, standard officer quality mounts complete with laced leather hilt protector, company officer blue and brown sword knot, pale olive saya with leather field cover (tears and stitching undone to the rear) and leather wet-weather hilt cover, the whole with much original finish and colour (blade with two patches of discolouration, scabbard suspension ring missing)
