for 1877, 30in. sleeved steel to damascus nitro barrels (in 2020), the rib with recent engraving 'J. PURDEY & SONS. AUDLEY HOUSE SOUTH AUDLEY STREET LONDON.', 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. 1/2 and 3/4 choke, action bar engraved '2', carved percussion fences, rebounding island locks with finely engraved dolphin hammers, fine acanthus scroll engraving with floral bouquets, brushed finish overall, 14in. well-figured refinished stock, fore-end with Anson push rod release and inset with a blank gold diamond shaped escutcheon, weight 6lb. 4oz.
