for 1862, 29 3/4in. nitro reproved bold damascus barrels (in 2020, struck off), the rib engraved 'J. PURDEY. 314 1/2 OXFORD STREET. LONDON.', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. true cyl. in both, conversion from pinfire with carved serpentine fences of pinfire form, the triggerguard and tang forming the screw-grip underlever with grip safety, non-rebounding back-action locks, bold acanthus scroll engraving, brushed finish, 14 5/8in. figured stock including steel buttplate, cracked at the hand and with ornately formed and engraved strengthening plates, weight 6lb. 13oz.
