serial numbered to 1895, 29 3/4in. black powder only reproved herringbone pattern damascus barrels, raised finely milled rib engraved at the breech end with a stylised pineapple, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. true cyl and 3/4 choke, treble-grip action with side-clips, automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, the action and furniture carved in high relief with art nouveau motifs on a finely stippled background, the makers name in raised scrolling banners to the sides, 14 1/8in. figured stock with sling swivels and horn buttplate, weight 6lb. 11oz., in a (possibly refurbished) mahogany case, the lid with white metal presentation plaque engraved 'SOUVENIR D'AFFECTION DE LA 58eme SORTIE DE L'ECOLE IMPERIALE DE DROIT A SON SYMPATHIQUE GOUVERNEUR DE CLASSE MR. MILLIOUD. 31 MAI 1897' the top right corner applied with an ornate monogram 'CM'
