for 1914, 30in. Whitworth-steel nitro chopperlump barrels (loose on action) with raised matted rib, the tubes engraved 'J. PURDEY & SONS. AUDLEY HOUSE, SOUTH AUDLEY STREET, LONDON.','MADE OF SIR JOSEPH WHITWORTH'S FLUID PRESSED STEEL', 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. full choke in both (traces of cleaned pitting);
28in. Whitworth-steel nitro chopperlump barrels (loose on action) with raised matted rib, the tubes engraved 'J. PURDEY & SONS. AUDLEY HOUSE, SOUTH AUDLEY STREET, LONDON.','MADE OF SIR JOSEPH WHITWORTH'S FLUID PRESSED STEEL', 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. 3/4 and full choke, minor bulge right tube;
treble-grip action with hidden third bite, side-clips and removable striker discs, manual safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, cocking-indicators, articulated front trigger, best fine acanthus scroll engraving with floral bouquets, no finish remaining, 14 3/4in. figured stock (likely historic replacement) with refreshed chequering, 3/4in. rubber recoil pad and with wood spacer, fore-end with refreshed chequering and bruising towards iron, weight 7lb. 6oz. (30in. barrels) and 7lb. 5oz. (28in. barrels), in its brass-cornered oak and leather case, with provision for both sets of barrels
