A CASED .41 DUAL IGNITION DELUXE DERRINGER, MODEL 'WILLIAMSON'S PATENT', serial no. 2724,
manufactured by the National Fire Arms Company, New York circa 1868, with slide forwards barrel (traces of silver plating) and signed 'WILLIAMSON'S PAT. OCT. 2 1866 NEW YORK' on the left hand side, flat sighting plane engraved with an arrow and fitted with a blade fore-sight, engraved brass frames (traces of gilding), engraved back-strap, rosewood full-stocks with chequered birdshead butts and engraved brass trigger-guard and nose-cap, central hammer and together with a possibly correct walnut case with banded corners, the lid lined in padded red velvet (faded brown) and bearing a paper trade label for John K. Rider, Gun Maker, Philadelphia, the tray with a continental form wood liner inlet for the pistol and lined in red velvet (faded) with drilled holes for ammunition (some inert rounds included), complete with a reproduction percussion adapter
