manufactured between 1871- 88, with octagonal 3in. barrel, rounded muzzle, the top-flat signed 'E. REMINGTON & SONS ILION' over 'RIDER'S PAT. AUG 15th 1871', scarce plain unengraved receiver, twin cocking and loading hammers (traces of colour), smooth wood birdshead slab-sided grips and under-barrel tubular magazine loading from the front, the whole retaining much original plated finish
