AN 11mm (WERNDL CARBINE) SIX-SHOT SERVICE-REVOLVER, MODEL 'M70 GASSER', serial no. 99033,
made by L. Gasser, Vienna and dated for 1883, with second version 7 1/4in. (185mm) barrel, moulded blade fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight to top of breech, the top also marked 'T' over 'V' and 'Wn 83', the side of throat signed 'L. GASSER WIEN', long plain stepped cylinder with external ratchet locks, open iron frame with exposed safety spring mounted horizontally to the right hand side and hinged loading gate, double action mechanism and chequered walnut bag-shaped grips, plunge ejector with wing-nut lock mounted to lower right of barrel, strong traces of original finish remaining
