A .577-450 (M/H) FALLING-BLOCK RIFLE, MODEL '1871 MILITARY', no visible serial number,
dated for 1871, with 33 1/4in. round barrel marked 'HENRY'S PATENT RIFLING', block and blade fore-sight, elevating ladder rear-sight, slab-sided action marked 'HENRY'S PATENT' on the left and 'WRA & A Co.' on the right together with the date, non-rebounding plain back-action left hand lock signed 'ALEXR. HENRY', walnut straight-hand stock stamped with New South Wales contract markings, smooth iron buttplate, push button release to tip of under-lever opener, walnut three-quarter military style fore-end with two iron barrel-bands, the front example with bayonet lug and an iron nose-cap and under-barrel clearing rod, the whole refinished
