A .577-450 (M/H) SERVICE-RIFLE, MODEL 'MARTINI-HENRY MKIV LONG-LEVER', no visible serial number,
dated for 1886, with 33 1/4in. barrel, block & blade fore-sight, elevating ladder rear-sight, short nocksform, slab-sided receiver with external cocking indicator on the right face and marked with a 'V.R.' crown device, 'ENFIELD', the date and 'IV' over 'I', walnut butt-stock with 'RAWUL- PINDI' roundel stamp, the date '1908' and farsi marks, long under-lever, walnut three-quarter length fore-end, two iron barrel-bands, nose-cap and original button-tipped iron clearing-rod, fitted with a possibly period pattern 1888 black leather sling, 49 1/2in. overall, weight approximately 9lbs.
