A GOOD CASED 54-BORE PERCUSSION REVOLVER, MODEL 'WEBLEY-BENTLEY PATENT', no visible serial number,
Birmingham made circa 1852, with blued octagonal 5 3/4in. barrel, dove-tailed white metal fore-sight, engraved band at muzzle, scroll engraved panel to top of barrel throat, cross-wedge barrel fastener the bolster with moulded hook for the detachable rammer/mould combination tool (included), fully engraved and colour hardened open frame with rear-sight notch to a platform at top of standing breech, blued safe spring to left side of frame, plain six-shot cylinder locking on the nipple-wells, engraved back-strap signed 'ADAMS - LONDON', engraved domed pommel-cap with central trapdoor and guarded self-cocking trigger, the whole retaining the majority of its original finish and colour and complete with its period walnut storage-case, lined and compartmented in green baize and containing the original combination loading tool, a nipple key, a glass oil-bottle, a cotton bag for wads and balls and a later flask (lock escutcheon absent, missing key)
