A .36 PERCUSSION REVOLVER, MODEL '1851 LONDON NAVY', serial no. 27525/20633,
for 1855, with working period replacement octagonal 7 1/2in. London proved barrel with traces of a War Department stamp (numbered '27525'), the top-flat signed 'ADDRESS COL. COLT LONDON', six-shot cylinder scrubbed of scene and numbered '20633', open iron frame with same number marked 'COLTS PATENT', iron grip-straps and trigger-guard, smooth walnut one-piece grip pegged at heel and stamped with initials 'R.W.' to base, fitted with an articulated under-barrel rammer, dome-head screws and retaining traces of an older refinish (wedge replaced), 13 3/4in. overall, weight approximately 2 1/2lbs.
