for 1861, with octagonal 7 1/2in. barrel signed 'ADDRESS COL SAML. COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA', dove-tailed brass bead fore-sight, plain six-shot cylinder (scene lost, number defaced), open iron frame marked 'US' over 'COLTS PATENT', brass trigger-guard and grip-straps, all matching numbers bar the cylinder (now un-numbered), lightly cleaned with some shallow pitting, walnut grip repaired on left hand side
