A .650 PERCUSSION CARBINE, MODEL 'CONSTABULARY STYLE CARBINE', serial no. 56, WITH BAYONET,
circa 1845, with 25 3/4in. plain barrel brushed bright, block fore-sight, no provision for rear-sight, solid top-tang with rounded tip, borderline engraved lock of flint form and signed 'TOWER' at the rounded tail and with a crown forwards of the hammer, walnut hand-rail full-stock (cracked at wrist), carved apron around the top-tang, brass furniture, the heel-plate spur engraved 'L.C.F.' and struck with the number '56', iron stirrup swivels, the rear mounted to the front of the trigger guard bow, button tipped iron ramrod, together with a constabulary type socket bayonet signed 'S. HILL', no scabbard
