A FINE PAIR OF 25-BORE FLINTLOCK OTTOMAN HORSE-PISTOLS WITH PAKTONG STOCKS, UNSIGNED, no visible serial numbers,
circa 1795, with tapering round iron 12 1/2in. barrels inlet with white-metal scrolls incorporating a false signature to the breeches (small losses to inlay), moulded stepped flutes joining to the top-tangs, the tangs themselves covered with engraved white-metal panels incorporating raised boat-shaped sighting grooves extending over the breech ends, plain radiused locks of probable European manufacture incorporating swan-necked cocks, moulded semi-rainproof pans and bridles, rollers to the frizzen springs, ribbed frizzen faces, paktong full-stocks with relief moulded and carved decoration, engraved borders with nielloed grounds, carved and moulded triggers and trigger guards (one guard cracked through at rear), false ramrods and white-metal embossed and engraved long nose-caps with integral elongated boat-shaped fore-sights
