A 10-BORE FLINTLOCK FOWLING-PIECE, no visible serial number,
circa 1804-1816, with octagonal to sixteen-sided to round 54in. barrel, carved girdle at the intersection, the top-flat signed 'BARBER & BOALER, NEWARK', bead fore-sight, broad sighting groove to top-tang, plain flat slightly curved bevel-edged lock signed 'BARBER' below the pan, stepped and pointed tail, roller frizzen with semi rainproof pan, swan-necked cock, walnut half-stock with dot and checker chequering at wrist, iron furniture, acorn finial and replacement ramrod, overall length 71in., weight approximately 11lbs.
